Ground plane orientation is useful in many computer vision tasks. In this work, we propose a coarse-to-fine approach to estimate it from monocular cameras. The approach firstly obtain a coarse estimation using the homography from feature point tracking, and then refine the estimation using the surface layout which is computed from appearances of local image regions. The performance of the proposed approach have been evaluated on the Kitti Dataset. The experiment results indicate that the proposed approach has a worse accuracy comparing to the state-of-the-art. However, we also see possibility of dramatic improvement of the proposed approach in the experiment. |
