Effects of Seating Arrangements in Meta-verse on Human-Agent Interaction
Misako Shimono, Tomoko Koda (OIT) HCS2015-8 HIP2015-8
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, online communication systems with intelligent virtual agents have been increasingly used as our daily communication tools. As expressiveness of the virtual space has improved, we should consider a situation where virtual conversant are sitting in a virtual room, not only standing in a virtual world as often was the case. Seating arrangements plays an important role in activating communication, such as facing position makes the two first-time conversant feel more comfortable than in other seating arrangements. We apply this finding to the case of agent conversant, and assume that the similar seating effects on active communication can be found with an agent in a 3D virtual space.
