Proposal of Differential Extraction Method between Parameter Design Sheet and Configuration Information of the System for Productivity Improvement of SE

(in English) In configuration process of IT system, system engineers identify consistencies between designed and configured values of each software parameter to detect mis-configuration with their eyes. Workload for the parameter identification operation is now increasing due to expansion of scale of the IT system. In this paper, we propose a supporting technology that improves efficiency of the operation. The proposed technology can extract differences automatically between parameter design list and configured value set in the actual system by utilizing setting template which is used with a configuration management tool. We evaluated workloads required for the parameter identification before and after the technology application, and estimated cost reduction effect. The result showed that the proposed technology reduced about 80% workload compared to traditional operations.
