Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) By development of wireless-communications technology in recent years, the electromagnetic wave absorbers which can operate in the frequency range of several GHz to tens of GHz are required. In order to achieve the good absorption characteristic by low cost and a low environmental impact, the single-layer-type electromagnetic wave absorbers short-circuited the rear surface by the metal plate using the composites of sendust and polystyrene resin were prepared and the electromagnetic wave absorption characteristic was evaluated. Sendust is the alloy of Fe, Si, and Al and the soft magnetic material containing no rare element. Although in the previous study, we have reported that the maximum value of normalized -20dB bandwidth for those absorbers estimated from both the complex permittivity and the complex permeability of the composites measured by the transmission-line method is large value. However, the highly accurate estimation of the complex permittivity and the complex permeability by the transmission-line method using a vector network analyzer is difficult and the measurement is also difficult in the frequency range of 60 GHz and more than. In this study, the direct measurement for the return loss of a single layer type electromagnetic wave absorber in the frequency range of 12.4-110 GHz in free space was tried and the broadband absorption characteristics was confirmed.
