In the consumer products market, a lot of high energy density lithium-ion batteries were developed, and among them, there are a few lithium-ion batteries which were characterized by high safety with flame resistance. These batteries shows much promise for mounting on spacecraft. However, because they have no actual achievement in orbit, it is difficult to mount on spacecraft without long run tests. Therefore, we tested the batteries for survey to discover how they change the characteristics through charge and discharge cycle test. In this paper, we first discuss about safe lithium ion batteries, then the outline of the tests and future work are discussed. |
