In this study, the particle velocity is introduced into the compact-explicit finite-difference time-domain (CE-FDTD) method. The CE-FDTD method is a high-accuracy scheme in which the second order differential of the wave equation is discretized along not only the coordinate axial direction, but also the face-diagonal direction. A high-accuracy approach based on the multi-directional reference is introduced into the standard FDTD method in which the governing equation is described by the sound pressure and the particle velocity. Some demonstrations are carried out for the case of the two-dimensional sound field. It is shown that the present scheme has same accuracy with the CE-FDTD method. |
