Recent years, the Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system which supports doctor’s diagnosis effectively in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer is required. Our research aims to develop a diagnosis support system eCAD for Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) colorectal endoscopic images with Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) magnification which identify the pathology type from local features in NBI endoscopic image. This paper presents a hardware implementation for a feature transformation based on Bag-of-Features (BoF), which changes the feature quantities, which is generated in the feature extraction step, to Visual Word (VW) histograms. Using Manhattan distance instead of Euclidian distance in the feature transformation enables paralleling and pipelining with low resource usage. As a result, eCAD can be possible to process the feature transformation to complete its work in about 50 msec on the features of Full HD image and this time is enough to the real time diagnosis for clinical doctors. |
