Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology has gained much attraction due to its wide applications. Since a high power is actually applied into WPT systems, strong EM field is then created around the systems. An exposure evaluation of human body in vicinity to the WPT systems is of mandatory in consequence. Although the magnetic field is actually a dominant exposure factor, in some case, a strong incident electric near-field is not negligible. In this study, we investigate and quantify influence of incident electric field to absorption energy into human body which is placed close to two type of MHz-band wireless power transfer systems; solenoid-type and spiral-type, by comparing the results obtained with the full-wave finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method to those by the impedance method which is based on a quasi-static approximation. It has been shown that, the effect of incident electric field is comparably large and cannot be neglected, i.e. for an exposure from such solenoid-type WPT system considered in our study. |
