[Special Invited Talk] Software and Network Technologies for NFV

(in English) The NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) is the one of the hottest topics as a new network architecture/implementation. This talk explains software and network technologies that are used to build the NFVI (NFV Infrastructure), which is a portion of the reference architecture model defined by the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). In this talk, network technologies of Linux/KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) and OpenStack, Open vSwitch (a virtual switch software) and DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit, which accelerates packet transfer speed in software) are explained. From the view point of implementation technology choices, dedicated/general-purpose and hardware/software are also discussed.
