SPICE Model for Common Mode Choke Including Complex Permeability

(in English) To design the filter circuit which reduces electromagnetic noise generated from power electronics converters, it is important to calculate the insertion loss of the filter using common mode chokes. This paper presents a SPICE model for a common mode choke, which includes frequency-dependent complex permeability of a magnetic material. This model expresses complex permeability as a transfer function in the s-domain. Using proposed model, it is shown that not only the measured impedance characteristic can be modeled with high accuracy, but also a magnetizing inductance and a core loss can be calculated using the data-sheet. Moreover, the insertion loss of a T-type filter can be calculated within 3dB error using proposed model.
