Characterization of Absorbing Material Using Multiple Poles Debye Model and Its Application for Wideband Simulation in FDTD Method

(in English) To save the computational cost, the wide frequency band calculation using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is employed instead of the multiple single frequency calculation techniques. In order to achieve this, it is important to know the frequency characteristics of the wave absorbing material over such wide range frequency. In this paper, the multiple poles Debye model is utilized to approximate the absorber material properties from the closed-form solution of the complex relative permittivity derived from the measurement data. Based on the obtained results, an alternative computation of Debye parameters is proposed by parameterizing as a function of carbon content. Then, the reflection coefficient from a multilayer plate wave absorber is numerically computed by 1D-FDTD method and validated by the transmission line theory. As the results of the simulation, the Debye model offers a good approximation of this material property.
