Proposal of Estimation Method of Satellite Signal Reception Characteristics for efficient GPS Antenna setting

(in English) As base stations for mobile communication systems based on TDD (Time Division Duplex), such as TD-LTE, require highly precise time synchronization of 1µs order, time synchronization methods employing Global Navigation Satellite Systems such as GPS are widely deployed. However, when adding base stations in the urban area of high traffic demands, the case navigation satellite signals cannot be received properly is assumed. For the purpose of achieving optimization of GPS antennas locations efficiently, we studied estimation methods of satellite signals reception characteristics by specifying structures which interrupt satellite signals reception in LOS state with sky photo images of surroundings taken with an all-direction camera with a fish-eye lens and calculating orbits of navigation satellites. In this report, the procedure of aligning optical axe of fish-eye lens which is an important process to achieve precise estimation of satellite signals reception characteristics is presented in detail along with applications of these methods.
