Organic Thin Film Transistor with Various Interfacial Layer

(in English) Organic Thin-Film Transistor (OTFTs) using organic semiconductors with various insulating interfacial layers (IILs) were investigated. We compared threshold voltage, on-off ratio and carrier mobility by using pentacene and C8-BTBT as an organic materials. The OTFTs using pentacene and C8-BTBT as the active layer were fabricated using various kinds of interfacial layers. Before inserting interfacial layer, the mobility of the OTFT using pentacene and C8-BTBT was 0.12 and 1.85 cm/Vs, respectively. By inserting the polymer and SAM IIL, the threshold voltage of the OTFT using pentacene were shifted to negative voltage. However, the OTFT with high-k IIL materials, threshold voltage was shifted to positive voltage. For C8BTBT, there was a small obvious change. However, tendency was similar to the pentacene OTFTs on mobility and threshold voltage. This implies that there exist certain defects and related charges, for example, insulator/insulator and/or insulator/ organic material interface.
