Evaluation of Wireless Area by Ray Tracing Method at 3.5GHz Band -- On Beam Tilting Effect --

(in English) In 4th generation mobile communication systems, wireless area by a base station antenna takes the form of small wireless zone for the sake of the improvement of frequency usage efficiency and throughput. To form the optimum wireless area by a base station, it is necessary to analyze multi-path propagation environment including some parameters, such as base station height, average building height in the area, street width and antenna pattern. In this paper, we evaluated wireless area after estimation of propagation analysis by ray tracing method at 3.5GHz-band. We consider antenna beam tilting effect from propagation analysis by antenna height. Base station antenna position is assumed on each intersection in case of different street width in urban and suburban areas. Antenna vertical pattern are considered horizontal null or low side-lobe and tilt patterns.
As some analytical results, small wireless zone in urban area tends to form under the conditions where base station antenna height is lower than average building height and small beam tilting angle.
