Urban model for path loss of microcell in consideration of frequency characteristics

(in English) A mechanism model for propagation loss on urban microcell was examined. For a model of propagation loss, the multiple-screen diffraction model had been proposed, and the model was composed of plural flat boards in substitution for rows of buildings. However, the model has the fault that its frequency characteristics are different from that of the actual city. When radio wave propagates the paths both line-of site and non-line-of site, its propagation loss is independent of frequency. This characteristic is shown by the derivation of a numerical formula and the measurement. Based on this characteristic, the frequency characteristics of the model using plural flat boards with the gap were measured. The measurement result shows that the improvement of the model is necessary to reproduce the frequency characteristics of the actual city.
