Development of Generation Method of Anaglyph Images without Ghost Artifacts considering Saliency of Objects

(in English) In the three-dimensional visualization, anaglyph image that is one of the simple stereoscopic methods produces the three-dimensional visual effect of image by encoding each eye's image using filters of different colors. However, the image quality as the two-dimensional image is deteriorated by the ghost artifacts when we observe any anaglyph image with naked eyes. We have proposed the generation method of the anaglyph image to reduce the ghost artifacts by determining the appropriate difference between both eye’s images in each object. Moreover, we have re-calculated the difference by considering the saliency in correspond to each object. It is seen in the experimental results that the proposed method can reduce the ghost artifacts remaining the three-dimensional visual effect compared with the conventional methods.
