On an Objective Prediction Method of Binaural Speech Intelligibility

(in English) Most existing objective intelligibility prediction method predicts monaural intelligibility using monaural signal. Therefore, intelligibility prediction using binaural signals is necessary. In this report, binaural intelligibility was estimated by the better ear model, and its estimation precision was verified. Accordingly, speech samples with various source locations were prepared using binaural simulation. Subjective measurement tests were carried out on these samples. fwSNRseg and LPC cepstrum distance were obtained from these samples. Intelligibility is estimated by applying regression analysis. In result, the estimation precision of the better ear model yielded higher correlation with subjective score than that of the monaural model by approximately 0.2. And the estimation precision of fwSNRseg is higher than that of LPC cepstrum distance.
