Toward the realization of next generation AC voltage standards, RSFQ-D/A converters of the frequency modulation type have been studied. For implementation of an essential voltage multiplier (VM) component, we have focused on a double flux quantum amplifier (DFQA). In our previous studies, it was verified that a 1000-fold DFQA operated up to 600 MHz with relative errors less than ±0.1 % with SFQ pulse trains fed using a dc/SFQ converter. It is necessary to evaluate the DFQA performance at higher frequencies beyond 10 GHz for application to RSFQ-D/A converters. In this paper, we report the evaluation of a 200-fold DFQA using SFQ pulse trains generated using a dc/SFQ converter and a 64-fold pulse number multiplier (PNM). In addition, we figure out why there is certain difference in the maximum operation frequencies between the experimental over-biasing method and numerical periodic pulse feeding. |
