(in English) Inmarsat has been providing Mobile Satellite Services for more than 35 years in L-band frequencies. Recently Inmarsat launched new Ka-band High Throughput Satellites as five generation satellites and provides new Global Xpress (GX) services in Ka-band. After launching POR satellite, complete global coverage service will be available in the next year. In
this presentation, the GX service is overviewed from the technical viewpoint especially focused on the reason why Ka-band is selected.
