Uplink Interference Suppression by MMSE-CMA Adaptive Array on Multicell Massive MIMO Systems

(in English) This paper proposes uplink interference suppression scheme for multicell massive MIMO systems. Single frequency reuse is required for effective frequency resource utilization but it increases inter-cell interference (ICI) that severely degrades communication quality. Mulituser MIMO is also effective in improving spectral efficiency. Though the orthogonal pilot sequences enables efficient channel estimation for the number of users spatially multiplexed, they must be reused among cells due to the limitation of orthogonal sequence set. It causes pilot contamination and inter-user interference (IUI) cannot be suppressed enough. In the massive MIMO systems, ICI and IUI can be suppressed since base station has excess degrees of freedom (DoFs). We apply constant modulus algorithm (CMA) adaptive array to the output of minimum mean-square error (MMSE) reception. MMSE weight enables CMA to capture desired signal and CMA effectively suppresses IUI and ICI. Computer simulation revealed that CDF=5% value of SINR can be improved by 17 dB when base station equips 100 antennas.
