[Invited Talk] How many years have I been engaged in underwater acoustics?

(in English) The author joined in the research on nonlinear acoustics in Osaka University from 1973. He shifted to the field of underwater acoustics from around 1980 at the opportunity of the experiment of a parametric source, and since then he developed a parametric sub-bottom profiler and a multi-narrow-beam echo sounder in Furuno Electric Co. from 1984. Then He developed an ocean acoustic tomography system and various kinds of sonars for unmanned underwater vehicles in Japan Marine Science and Technology Center from 1993. Finally he was engaged in the study of the acoustic lens and acoustic mirror for underwater imaging sonars in National Defense Academy from 2001. These are overviewed and generalized.
