Due to the high usability of smartphones, various applications running in the smartphones are rapidly increase. Although mobile network operators increase their infrastructure capacity for the communication demands from the smartphones, communication characters of the applications changes from that of conventional applications (telephone and e-mail services). The major difference is that a large amount of smartphones (User Equipment: UE) begins its communication concurrently. This leads in heavy burden for the functions of mobile core system, and thus, the most UE is forced to wait for its communication initiation. In order to solve this problem, NFV (Network Function Virtualization) technology is a promising solution to expand by the capacity. To improve efficacy of the capacity expansion is making the resources (virtual machines: VMs) rapidly ready to be used for the specific functions, and ability of the accurate estimation of the required resources (the number of VMs). In this paper, we describe the implementation strategy for the resource preparation, the models to estimate the resources, and procedure to limiting UEs’ communication initiation delay in the congested situation. |
