Analysis of Shadow Fading in Mobile Radio -- Autocorrelation Mechanism of Received Level Variation approximated with Exponential Function --
Teruya Fujii, Hideki Omote (Softbank) AP2015-74
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The propagation variation in mobile radio can divide into three independent variations; instantaneous fading (Rayleigh fading), short-term fading (shadow fading) and long-term fading (propagation loss). It is well known that the distribution and autocorrelation characteristics of shadow fading approximately follow a Log-Normal distribution and an exponential function respectively. However there is less research of the mechanism why its autocorrelation characteristic can be approximated with an exponential function. In this paper, we study about the mechanism that the autocorrelation function of shadow fading follows the exponential function.
