Problems which Occur with ICT Introduction to a Hospital, and Their Solutions

(in English) Introduction of the information and communication technology (ICT) to the clinical medicine has begun in construction and use of the hospital information system (HIS), and has improved its structure with hospital network using communication technology. In recent years, introduction of the wireless-communications technology is remarkable. However, in order to use wireless communications, safe introduction and stable operation are indispensable. In this paper, I state a personal opinion about the future trend of ICT employment in clinical medicine, and the possible problems which arise with ICT introduction, based on my experience of managing HIS and networks in two university hospitals. As main concern, there will be availability fall of the hospital wireless LAN, by difficulty of the channel management. Also, there will be interferences by electromagnetic noises induced by carrying-in apparatus or invaded wireless LAN signals. In addition, there will be concern of the information leak by the setting defect of a wireless communication apparatus.
