It is well-known that acoustic flow is generated in air near ultrasonic travelling wave. We have proposed that damped flexural travelling wave can be excited by using a lossy ultrasonic transmission pipe. The wave generates acoustic flow in the inside of the pipe. In this report, we propose conditions to generate acoustic flow effectively in the pipe. To realize, it is necessary that each wave number and resonance frequency of two resonance modes of the pipe vibration and the air rod vibration in the pip are equalized to each other. The conditions are analyzed by FEA and experimental results using a polycarbonate pipe designed under the conditions are shown. |
