Measurement method of high-intensity aerial ultrasonic waves and their characteristics

(in English) We developed an aerial ultrasonic sound source which generated a ultrasonic wave the higher than that of a conventional sound source. The aerial ultrasonic wave radiated by a striped-mode rectangular vibrating plate of the sound source is converged at a point by a reflector with specific shape. It is estimated that the converging ultrasonic wave with a very high intensity of about 23.5 kPa (181 dB) was produced at a supplied electric power of 150 W by the ultrasonic source driven at 20 kHz. This sound pressure is too higher to measure with a microphone. In this report, we investigated the characteristics of non-linear of high-intensity aerial ultrasonic wave generated by this sound source. In addition, it was tried to measure the acoustic energy radiated from the sound source directly. Furthermore, based on the results, it was estimated a very high levels of the sound pressure.
