Real-time face authentication by sequential update of student's information registered in e-Learning system

(in English) This study aims to develop the method to authenticate a student who is enrolled as an attendee of e-Learning. The face recognition using web-camera has been used to authenticate the student in e-Learning. In this method, the authentication of the student is made by comparing the face image registered beforehand with the face image input in the e-Learning. In an ordinary lecture, however, a teacher checks the student's attendance through the registration information and observation of the students themselves during the lecture. Therefore, the continuous authentication of the student is also needed in the e-Learning, besides the initial authentication using the registered face image. In this paper, we focus the similarity in the student's face image during the e-Learning, and propose the authentication method with sequential updates of the student's image. Some update methods are considered to find the appropriate timing when false rejection rate becomes smaller.
