[Invited Lecture] Optical antenna system for short range ultra high speed communication

(in English) This report presents the optical antenna system to achieve terabit channel capacity in short range wireless communication. The range of transmission is estimated by the combination of low gain antenna and high gain beam steering one with a tunable infrared laser source, which shows the possibility of short range wireless communication by optical system. A waffled waveguide on silicon substrate is designed for high gain beam steering antenna and its fundamental characteristics are shown by a prototype optical antenna. We also propose a 2 dimensional beam scanning antenna using leaky waveguide antenna.
