Effects of Liquid Absorption of Covering Material for Loop Antennas Immersed in Liquid

(in English) Antennas operated in the liquid are generally coated by dielectric material in order to reduce the attenuation due to direct contact between the metallic portion in the antenna and liquid. In this report, we examine the effect of covering on the performance of the antenna by assuming the covering material has a property of absorbing the liquid and has a relative permittivity and conductivity modeled by Lichtenecker's logarithmic mixture formula with volume fraction of the liquid. In designing circular loop antenna operated in the liquid in order to calibrate the probe for measuring specific absorption rate (SAR), we examine the relationship between dielectric property of covering material and loop's length which can realize constant near-field gain near the antenna in the liquid.
