For personal mobile communication satellite, reflector with very large aperture will be required for personal terminal with small size and small power consumption. Multi-beam and frequency re-use system with digital beam former and channelizer is useful to cover wide service area and accommodate huge number of user. In the experiment with Engineering Testing Satellite VIII with thirteen meters aperture reflector, pointing offset and change of antenna pattern likely due to deformation of reflector was reported. If we can measure the shape of reflector in enough precision in orbit, compensation of antenna pattern with excitation amplitude and excitation phase optimized to deformed reflector surface. In this paper, we report the preliminary results of "measurement network design" on application of three dimensional vision metrology to orbital measurement of large reflector. |
