Brillouin scattering spectroscopy allows to investigate a shift frequency of the incident light in GHz range, which occurs by inelastically-scattering between photons and thermal phonons. It is a non-destructive and non-contact technique used to determine the velocity of an acoustic wave in thin materials, such as crystalline solids, ceramics, or amorphous materials. However, it needs a long measurement time for the sufficient accuracy. It has been known that it is possible to improve the accuracy by using coherent induced phonons. In this study, we used a ScAlN piezoelectric thin film HBAR (High-overtone bulk acoustic resonator) to induce phonons by applying an electric field directly with a microprobe, and achieved the reduction of measurement time by 1/8670. |
