This paper proposes a novel concept called recommendation-based bandwidth calendaring for efficient network utilization, where user can directly reserve backbone network resources. This system recommends reservation times (time slots) and routes with different service grades. User requests are balanced among multiple time slots and routes, and then network utilization is improved compared to the case without our system. We also propose the resources allocation optimization problem, which speeds up the computation by aggregating similar time slots to one time slot. From the computer simulation, our algorithm can compute sub-optimal solution within three seconds in 300-node network. |
