(in English) The twenty third International Conference on Optical Fiber Sensors (OFS-23) was held on June 2-6, 2014, at the Hotel Santemar, in Santander, Spain. For over three decades, the international conference series of OFS have provided active forum for reporting and discussing the latest advances in fiber-optic and photonic sensing technologies and related devices within research and industrial communities. The conference series have been held every one and a half years in rotation between European, North- and South-American, and Asia-Pacific regions. OFS-23 is the ninth conference in European region and the first time in Spain. In this conference, about 400 papers were presented and there were more than 600 participants from more than 40 countries in the world. This report describes the outline of the conference.
