A New Biometrics Technique with Flick Operation on Electronic Device

(in English) Electronic devices adopting a touch-screen display such as smart phone, tablet and wearable devices have been getting used all over the world, and information security on these devices has been highly demanded. Even though biometrics technologies are introduced to the login process on these devices, many of them have several disadvantages: requirement of embedding special sensor, limited environment to use, and easy copy of key information for authentication. In this research, we proposed a new biometrics technique which has low risks for users to manage the key information and can capture user's inimitable behavioral features in his/her flick-response. Through authentication experiments, it was shown that our proposed technique achieved about 1.5% of EER, and flick velocity and flick angle highly contributed to this high accuracy among feature indices.
