Bouncing ball system is often used for describing collision vibration generated in machine systems. In this research, we study the frequency response of the bouncing ball system with a periodical vibrated plate by the experiment and simulation. As a result, we found that the maximum height of the ball increases stepwise as varying the vibrated plate frequency by the experiment and simulation. Poincare maps in our simulation show that the new behavior occurs after bifurcation, however the basic behavior remains. By observation the time-series waveforms, the ball behavior just after bifurcation collides at the neighborhood of the lowest point of the paddle, then collides repeatedly at the upward to the right slope of the paddles displacement, and reaches the maximum height. |
