A study on the bifurcation analysis of a human atrial myocyte model toward the creation of a biological pacemaker
Yoshiki Ogawa, Shinji Doi (Kyoto Univ.) NLP2015-122
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Biological pacemaker engineering is a strategy to initiate pacemaker activity in non-pacemaking cells, and it is expected as an alternative to electronic pacemaker. Since it is necessary for biological pacemaker engineering to understand the dynamics of various ion channels comprehensively, we use the mathematical cell model. The purpose of this study is to investigate the method to create a biological pacemaker based on bifurcation analysis of human atrial myocyte model. Since variables with different time scale interfere with detailed bifurcation analyses in the atrial myocyte model, in this report, we investigate the effects of ion concentration change on the model dynamics based on the bifurcation analyses of modified models with some intracellular ion concentration fixed.
