We have proposed the distributed array antenna system (DAA) for the high speed satellite communications. DAA uses the multiple small antenna and combines the transmission signals in-phase for increasing the antenna gain. This paper proposes the suppression technique of the undesired radiation for DAA, that sets a transmission plate at each antenna aperture and the adaptive control of the transmission plates. The transmission plate, which is frequency-selective surface and consists a metal patch or slot, transmits electromagnetic waves and change the amplitude and phase of transmission waves. The radiation patterns of the antenna change as the transmission plate rotates with respect to the antenna. The adaptive control of the transmission plates, that changes the transmission plate to match the vehicle orientation, can be suppressed the undesired radiations of in-phase combining. The proposed technique achieved that the undesired radiation decreases at all vehicle orientation when DAA uses the three 16-patch array antenna, and 0.7 dB when CDF is equal to 0.9. |
