Mode analysis of currents generated in a three-wire AC cable by a switching power supply

(in English) CISPR16 is one of the standards that define the measuring apparatus and the measuring method of radio frequency interference waves and the immunity. In CISPR16, the self and the mutual inductances of the grounding cables are not considered, and it is determined to measure the differential- and the common-mode currents of power lines in a state close to an ideal grounding condition. However, in practice, the currents flowing in the same direction through the three wires of the AC cables are occurred because of the self and the mutual inductance of the grounding cable. In this report, we define a new current mode that represents those currents, and discuss the effectiveness of typical noise filters equipped with a switching power supply in the reduction of the current mode.
