Study on Appropriate TCP Congestion Control for WebQoE Improvement

(in English) This paper studies an appropriate TCP congestion control for a Web service from a user’s point of view by experiment. In the experiment, trying some congestion controls on both of a Web server and a Web client, the
authors assess QoE for a Web service. This paper considers a Web shopping service as a target one and uses three major congestion controls: TCP Cubic, TCP Vegas and TCP Illinois. The experimental results show that the effect
of the difference between the three congestion controls is not remarkable. However, in some case, when a Web client adopts TCP Vegas, the QoE for the Web service can be degraded. They confirm that the difference between congestion controls on the Web client can also affect QoE for the Web server.
