It is expected that wave height of a tsunami will be estimated far out at sea using a Doppler Radar as a tsunami warning system. However, it is difficult to estimate wave height by solving shallow water equations, because Radar measurements have observation noise and estimated the wave height has accumulated errors. In order to resolve the problem, we proposed a method of Radar data assimilation for a tsunami simulation model using the Kalman filter. The validity of the proposed algorithm has been confirmed through several computer simulations. |
