[Invited Talk] Effect of static and dynamic interaural difference on localization of spatially segregated sound

(in English) Attention plays an important role in separating target sound stream from other sound streams, the phenomenon is well-known as "cocktail party effect.” Listeners have ability to segregate the sound streams - separate the target stream from others and group into a stream. Previous research have investigated effects of acoustic feature of sounds such as timbre, and temporal structure, on the process. It has been also reported that directional information is important in the process. However, sounds with different timbre were presented in most of previous research. The question then arises whether the differences of timbre influenced the results. This paper introduces research investigated effects of interaural difference caused by difference of directional information only.
