Development of Synchronization Measurement System for Video Content

(in English) The synchronization of video playback timing among users is required when users have a conversation each other by SNS like message system while watching the same video at different locations. However, it is difficult to measure the video playback time difference from the network side through packet measurement technologies. In this paper, we designed and implemented a synchronization measurement system that runs on the Web browser obtaining video playback time of each user. This system can analyze the time difference among users that have a conversation each other. We performed experiment in the real environment and revealed that the time difference is around several seconds.
