Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) IEEE 802.11ah shows promise advantages in Internet of Things (IoT) such as extended range, power efficiency and scalable operation. IoT sensors which are based mainly on wireless transceivers need long-time living of portable battery. This has created a strong motivation for researchers on low-power design of IoT sensors. Our work focuses on optimization of 802.11ah PHY design in term of algorithm and architecture optimization. Specifically, we propose K-best Viterbi algorithm which is the kernel algorithm of Viterbi decoder in 802.11a/n/ac/ah transceiver design. In simulation with AWGN and Rayleigh fading channel, we recognize the effect of proposed Viterbi Decoder to error distribution on data. Also, experimental results of proposed Viterbi Decoder at 10 best nodes has shown satisfactory results in packet error rate (PER) with algorithm complexity can be reduced up to 6.4 times compared with conventional Viterbi Decoder.
