A Time-Mode Analog Signal Accumulator Using a Single Buffer Ring without Output Drift Calibration

(in English) This paper presents a time-mode analog signal accumulator whose input and output are both represented by the time difference
of two digital signal edge transitions.
The time interval between two pulses on a gated inverter buffer ring holds the accumulated value of the accumulator, therefore
calibration of output drift error due to the delay mismatch between the two pulses is not required.
The output sample rate is synchronous to the input sample rate,
which makes it easy to connect our accumulator with other time-mode circuits as a basic block for time-mode signal processing.
Our accumulator is implemented in a standard 180nm CMOS technology only with digital logic cells.
The measurement results confirm its accumulation operation.
