We think that the planar vibration locus is available to ultrasonic vibration assisted manufacturing technology. In previous study, we obtained the planar locus by using an ultrasonic longitudinal-torsional vibration source that contained a vibration converter of diagonal slits to drive the longitudinal and torsional frequencies. It was simple to obtain planar locus. But, it was difficult to control only longitudinal or torsional vibration by using the ultrasonic complex vibration source with diagonal slits. We have developed an ultrasonic longitudinal-torsional vibration source that can control the longitudinal-torsional vibration respectively. In this paper, we investigate a new type vibration source that satisfies these requirements and consists of two transducers, a longitudinal transducer and a torsional transducer, attached to the ends of a uniform rod. |
