[Invited Lecture] The dual polarization antenna suitable for the adaptive area control

(in English) Advanced C-RAN architecture which achieve carrier aggregation between macro cell and multiple small cell in heterogeneous network has been proposed to increase the radio capacity and improve throughput. This study proposes the switching direction antenna suitable for the adaptive area control using small cell deployments. There is a cylinder reflector with flat reflectors in the center and antenna elements are arranged circularly near the reflector. The antenna is possible to change Omni-directional into Bi-directional or One-directional by changing the feed points. It shows to reduce the difference of H.P.B.W. between the vertical polarization and the horizontal polarization by selection of the best parameters at the antenna. As a result, H.P.B.W. and gain of both optimizations become equivalent results in the horizontal plane.
