Micro-CT Volumetric Image Database Creation for Multi-scale Image Processing Algorithm Development -- Database creation for algorithm development in multi-disciplinary computational anatomy --

(in English) This paper introduces a database of micro-structure volumetric images taken by a micro-focus X-ray CT (micro-CT) for the research on multi-disciplinary computation anatomy. Innovative research area ``multi-disciplinary computational anatomy'' defines the anatomy on the four distinct called {it time-axis}, {it space-axis}, {it function-axis} and {it pathological axis}. Among these axes, multi-disciplinary computation anatomy focuses on multi-scale structure analysis and multi-scale image registration. This scale axis spans in the order of 10^2 to 10^3 image resolution scales. Multi-scale image database, which can become the target of the multi-disciplinary computation anatomy, has not been sufficiently investigated yet. Moreover, three-dimensional micro-structure image database has not been constructed for multi-disciplinary computational anatomy.
To provide some database for promoting multi-scale image database, this study introduces micro CT image database, which stores 50um to 10um scale volumetric images of several specimens. Each specimen is taken at several scanning resolutions.
