It is necessary to extract the accurate shape of pelvis from CT for our automated surgical planning method of acetabular component for total hip arthroplasty. In the diseased hip joint with large dislocation, the shape of acetabulum and femoral head is deformed, and so extracting the accurate shape is much difficult. Here we assess the accuracy of extracting the shape of pelvis from over secondary osteoarthritis. We corresponded points on statistical shape models with secondary osteoarthritis as a standard and we extracted the region of pelvis, so that the accuracy of extracting the pelvis region is ensured. |
