We studied whether there is any impact on the English rhythm by your playing music game that we have developed. In the present study, learning group (seven Japanese native speakers (JS) and three English native speakers (ES)) played the music game hearing the English rhythm, and control group (three JS and three ES) played the music game which does not contain the English rhythm. Furthermore, we studied a change of the subjects’ English rhythm before and after their playing the game. To clarify whether the subjects learned English rhythm or not, the subjects had to read the English sentences not included in the game music, and we recorded the voices. The maximum peak value of cross correlation (MPV) between the game-players’ and English teachers’ voices was calculated. As a result, MPV of JS significantly increased after the game play, so JS would learn English rhythm. On the other hand, there was not the significant difference in ES and the control group. In JS learning group as well as ES and control groups, game scores improved for five days. The distribution of the keystroke timing by JS group was different from ES group on the first day, but it resembled on the last day. From these results, JS can learn English rhythm playing the music game. The difference of the two groups at the first day will be that ES recall the English rhythm and the recall affects the movement of finger of the hands in the game play. The site of the brain which processes the timing for the finger movement is affected by the site where the timing for the mouth movement is processed. |
