Evaluation Experiments of Memory-Aid Agent Interaction System for Dementia Elderly

(in English) Today, dementia people tends to increase year by year in Japan. Rehabilitation support and prophylaxis of dementia are required.
Amnesia is a common symptom of dementia, and memory-aid is common therapy used to reduce the progression of Amnesia. Since there is a problem that current memory-aid method puts increasing pressure on both caregivers and dementia elderly, a new memory-aid method is needed. Therefore, we proposed and developed Memory-Aid Agent, which can reduce the burden of caregivers and make dementia elderly more comfortable, using interactive agent interface that we have developed. Memory-Aid Agent can provide a multi-modal interface and friendly memory-aid to dementia elderly. In this paper, we conduct demonstration experiments with dementia people as a target to verify the effectiveness of multi-modal interface, and consider the applicability of memory-aid agent.
